While growing up I often times witnessed my mother very early in the morning getting her bible and reading it before getting up from her bed. Her morning devotion consists of scripture reading, a prayer and a few minutes in meditation. She is a devout member of her church, First Baptist and my mother read her Sunday School lessons and church devotionals according to the scheduled time. Sadly, I never witnessed my mother studying the Holy Scriptures, and she never taught me how to study the scriptures. She gave me what she had, and it was sufficient to create in me a passion to know who this God is that I must trust and worship. 

Dear reader, we can never know Almighty God on a relationship level simply by reading the Bible. Unfortunately, countless of Believers are satisfied with reading the word of God daily, but they very seldom study the Holy Scriptures. It is not until we exceed reading that we get to that place in our spiritual relationship to knowing our heavenly Father. Reading provides and increases information but it will never establish relationship. We must do our very best to position ourselves not to hear from our  Savior and Lord, "Depart from me, I never knew you..." - Matthew 7:23.
