Maybe you have not read any of the books as yet but the Dead Sea Scrolls have some knowledge that I truly believe we need to know. While you may have been persuaded by your spiritual leader to refrain from reading these books, if you are a Bible student and mature in your knowledge of the Scriptures, I encourage you to read them.

Here is some information that is beneficial for you:

The book of Enoch - This book teaches us about how the angels fell and what happened after their rebellion against Almighty God. You would learn about the Watchers who were also mentioned in the book of Daniel. This book also teaches us about the forbidden knowledge, the solar calendar, giants or nephilim and creation. There is a wealth of knowledge in the book of Enoch and it complements the book of Genesis.

Tobit - This book is similar to the book of Job whereas its main theme is how the righteous suffers. It teaches us how to be faithful during fiery trials and how to endure hardships. It is named after its principal characterTobit, just like Nehemiah, Jeremiah, Esther and Ruth.

The book of Jubilees - This is a spin-off of Genesis and Exodus. This book would help you to understand the Torah and how the laws apply to everyday living of God's people. Bible characters such as Noah, Abraham and Moses are mentioned and how they lived by faith and obedience.

Sirach - This book is similar to Proverbs and Ecclesiastes because it is poetic and discloses a wealth of wisdom to its readers. It is also known as the Wisdom of Ben Sira (Ecclesiasticus). You would learn about family affairs, wealth, religious worship, social customs and laws that are sacred to Jewish traditions.

There are other books inclusive in the Dead Sea Scrolls that can help you to understand your Creator, the prophets and patriarchs of the faith. If you desire to study these books and would like to be a part of an online study group, Word Alive Ministries International will be studying the Dead Sea Scrolls along with the Old and New Testaments during the year of 2027. I encourage you to go to our home page and under Educational reserve you seat to study with us. Thanks for reading, feel free to leave a comment and God bless you.
